How will fitting one of your power upgrade units effect my insurance, should I tell them?

You ought to inform your insurance company when any alterations are carried out to your vehicle. premiums may not be affected at all or they may rise a little. The power gain achieved from our units is a safe one.

My vehicle still has a manufacturers warranty, will fitting a power upgrade unit compromise this warranty?

This is a grey area. Whilst our particular units only deliver a safe power increase it must be noted that warranty companies generally attempt to avoid paying out for any repairs if they can wether the addition of a power upgrade is related to the problem or not. Bearing this in mind it would be wise to remove or discreetly position the power upgrade unit prior to vehicle servicing or when repairs are going to be made.

The power gains quoted from the fitting of your units appear lower than others on the market, why is this?

All the units we offer are designed only to increase bhp/torque by a safe percentage, going beyond the figures we quote is opening up the potential for reliability problems & possible engine/injection system damage.
It is also worth noting that some companies are over quoting the power gain figures possibly in the hope that a customer will make a purchase on these grounds & even if the results are lower than expected the hope will be that the customer will not be willing to go through the hassle of returning the item.

I use bio-diesel/veg oil in my diesel, will the power upgrade be compatible?

Most certainly, all our units are tried & tested on vehicles using diesel & non fossil fuels.

Do you offer a fitting service?

Yes, fitting of the Easy Tune & Eco-Tune units is free & can be carried out whilst you wait. All BOBBOX units are fitted for between £30 & £50 + vat but the vehicle must be left with us for a minimum of 2 hours.
All fittings must be pre booked.

Where on the vehicle do i fit the power upgrade?

This is dependant on the injection system of the vehicle however all the devices fit under the bonnet and, if fitted, under engine cover. Though the BOBBOX VP37 usually connects to the ECU jack plug so placement of this device will be near to ECU.

I'm not sure if my vehicle is suitable to use a power upgrade, how do I check?

Do I need to fit a switch to activate/deactivate the power upgrade?

Our power upgrades are subtle in there methods making the effect smooth. The extra power comes in when you need it, around town driving and the like remains as before so no, there is no need to fit a switch.

I have upgraded my VW/Audi/Seat/Galaxy 1.9 TDI (PDE engine) with a device that cost around £50, power has increased but engine surges at idle and engine light flashes. Have you anything to increase power without the problems?

The upgrade you have simply fools the ECU into running the engine in cold running mode which can cause problems, especially the ‘bargain basement’ types.
To increase power properly you require the Easy Tune PD4 Cylinder power upgrade which actually remaps the pump units.

Do you have a 'plug in' upgrade for my LandRover TD5?

Not yet, we only have a clip version at present (BOBBOX TD5)

I own a 1997-2000 2.5DI transit, non turbo, I'd like more power.

A fuel pump remap will increase power and a set of upgrade injectors will also aid power/torque increase.

I wish to purchase one of your power upgrades but may change the vehicle it is going to be fitted to, will the upgrade fit my next purchase?

This all depends upon the injection system of your next purchase, it must use the same system to use the same power upgrade, we offer a trade in option if the system of your next purchase is different.

Some companies say they will match or beat any price for a power upgrade device/system, do you offer this service?

No, our power upgrades are of the highest quality and work in a safe manner. To reduce the price will result in reduced quality, reduced longevity of the upgrade and possible problems with the injection system/components.
Our power upgrades are as keenly priced as is possible when using high quality components.

Do you offer a turbo boost pressure increase, modified turbos or 'hybrid' turbos?

No, this is a service we will not offer.

How will economy be affected?

Economy figures generally improve after after a power upgrade is carried out. This, however, cannot be guaranteed as driving technigue is a major contributing factor.
