VEG VEHICLES

We receive many enquires about which vehicles are better suited for veg or bio fuel use and with recent changes in the tax disc prices (don't get us started on this 'carbon tyre print' fad please!!!!) many wise people are looking to ditch the new car route and go for older vehicles.
We say wise because it is actually pre year 2000 vehicles that are vastly superior when using bio or veg oil.

Vehicles that are suitable still benefit from additional fuel filtration, injection pump seals uprating and injector mods.

GOOD FOR VEG AND BIO

SSANGYONG MUSSO 2.9

The variants with the mercedes engine with inline injection pumps, this also includes the Mercedes cars with inline injection pumps (Late eighties/early nineties).

(Late 1980's to late 1990's)

Only models with the Bosch VE pump.

NISSAN PATROL

1990's WITH INLINE PUMP.

MITSUBISHI 2.5/2.8

Nineties models only, all fitted with VE type pump or Zexel Covec.

ISUZU

3.1 model only, fitted with VE type pump.

DAIHATSU

Fourtrak 2.8, fitted with VE type pump.

FORD FIESTA 1.8D

1990's model, non turbo, fitted with Bosch VE pump.

VAUXHALL 1.5 and 1.7 D/TD

Isuzuengined variants such as Combo and Corsa, up to late 90's, fitted with VE type pump.

MERCEDS VITO and SPRINTER

Pre CDI models only! Vito has inline pump, 2.9 Sprinter has Bosch VP37

IVECO / FIAt

Pre JTD model only! Has Bosch VE pump.

TOYOTA LANDCRUISER / SURF

Surd 2.4 / 3.0 EFI has Denso V3 pump, Landcruiser (not 24 valve!), Has VE type pump.

TRANSIT 2.0/2.4 DURATORQ (PRE TDCI)

Majority of vehicles fitted with Bosch VP30 though some 2.4's had Bosch VP44.

ROVER 25 / STREETWISE

Some early models had Bosch VP37 (good), but most had Bosch VP30 (OK).

VAUXHALL 1.7 DTI

Those with GM engine had Bosch VP30, Isuzu engine had Denso V3 (Both OK).

VW / SEAT / SKODA / AUDI 1.9 / 2.0 TDI PD

Up until around 2006 fitted with unit injection BUT some models had an exhaust gas sensor fitted which causes running complications.

BAD FOR VEG & BIO
(These vehicles are far from ideal to run on anything but normal diesel)

Fitted with Zexel VRZ pump.

Fitted with early common rail.
